Getting ready for your stay over the Easter holidays, we thought we would give you a little bit of local knowledge that may assist during this busy time.
As with most places many of the local shops and restaurants are closed Good Friday including the supermarket. The few places that are open are extremely busy it is not uncommon to wait up to 4 hours for take-away on Good Friday in the area.
Some alternatives for Good Friday are to pre-order your take-away well in advance even the day before is advisable, pre-book a table at local restaurants or grab some supplies and make use of the kitchen in your apartment including full size fridge/freezer, oven and loads of cooking utensils.
Also during Easter we normally avoid the supermarket during the lunch and mid-afternoon periods, morning and evening are a lot better. There are several supermarkets on your way to Ocean Grove that may be quieter (Geelong, Leopold, Bellarine Village) or you can arrange an online order and delivery via Woolworths or Coles (bearing in mind our office is unmanned so you would need to arrange a time that you are available to take delivery of the order).
